A prime example is the 60-year-old Macallan Red, which is highly sought after due to its rarity, with only 60 bottles in existence. The platform’s global sourcing strategy ensures that investors have access to these rare items, enhancing the potential for significant returns.

While the current collectible craze involves items like Labubu, a furry toy from China, Timeless Investments maintains a focus on ‘blue chip’ items, avoiding the volatility of hype-driven products. This strategy is part of their commitment to providing stable investment opportunities, as emphasized by Häusler.

The platform operates by allowing investors to purchase fractions of collectibles, such as whiskey, and recommends holding these investments for a set period, typically around 20 months, before reselling for a profit. When an offer is made on an item, the platform notifies the fraction holders, and if a majority agrees to sell, the transaction is completed. For those who wish to sell their fraction independently, a secondary market is available.

Timeless Investments leverages blockchain technology to manage these fractional investments, ensuring transparency and security. However, the platform has steered clear of the crypto collectibles trend, such as NFTs, which saw a brief surge in popularity. Häusler believes that while the timing isn’t right to push NFTs, there remains a strong community for art NFTs, and he anticipates a resurgence in digital collectibles.

With approximately 450,000 users, the platform attracts both professional collectors and younger investors looking to build wealth. Timeless Investments has facilitated around 50 successful ‘exits,’ or flipped items, with an average annual profit of 28%. This success underscores the platform’s potential as a viable investment avenue in the evolving landscape of digital and physical collectibles.
